MAI Capital Management Broadens Its Executive Suite
Firm elevates key team members to bolster C-Suite expertise as it advances on company growth objectives
CLEVELAND – September 25, 2019 – MAI Capital Management, LLC (“MAI”), an independent registered investment adviser specializing in comprehensive investment and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, announces new appointments to its executive suite. Jim Kacic has been appointed President of MAI, adding new leadership responsibilities to his current role of Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), and Shirley Titchenell will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer (“COO”). Kacic and Titchenell will continue to work in partnership with the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner, Rick Buoncore.
Kacic has served as CFO since 2008, helping support the firm’s growth, and overseeing the firm’s mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) process. In his expanded role, Kacic will lead MAI’s strategy and operations across the firm. Titchenell most recently served as MAI’s Chief Compliance Officer. Since joining the firm in 2008, she has led MAI’s compliance and risk management practice. As COO, Titchenell will oversee the investment operations, product development and fund administration and compliance teams. She will also play a key role in identifying a successor to lead the day-to-day work of the firm’s compliance function.
“We have been thoughtful in developing a company culture at MAI that’s rooted in a shared vision of exceptional client service, quality offerings and in-house expertise,” says Buoncore. “Jim and Shirley are long-standing contributors, and they are well-positioned to continue to lead and grow our firm.”
Under Buoncore’s leadership, MAI has achieved substantial growth. In the last two years, the firm has completed the successful acquisitions of the wealth management businesses of two Cleveland-area firms and expanded its geographic footprint via its partnerships with MTX Wealth Management in Reston, Virginia in June 2019 and John D. Dovich & Associates in Cincinnati in July 2019.
In addition to the expanded executive team, MAI is appointing another tenured team member to support the M&A process. Diane Whitehouse, a member of MAI since 2011, will assume the role of Managing Director, Integration Office, where she will be responsible for transitioning new businesses onto MAI.
“MAI is focused on future success, and we are continually working to ensure the right team is in place to support our clients and our advisors,” comments Buoncore. “Jim, Shirley and Diane embody the MAI philosophy and spirit and have played significant roles in our ongoing growth. I am thrilled to move ahead with their expertise at the helm.”
Kacic, Titchenell and Whitehouse will assume their respective roles immediately.
