Annapurna Valluri, Ph.D.
Annapurna joined MAI in 2020 and is a Director on the Alternative Investment team. She is responsible for performing due diligence on private capital investments (private equity, venture, debt) and hedge funds. Prior to joining MAI, Annapurna managed a $2.7 billion investment portfolio for University Hospitals. Before that, Annapurna was an institutional advisor at J.P. Morgan in New York for the firm’s large global clients comprising central banks, sovereign wealth funds and pension plans. She has also worked as a sell-side analyst at J.P. Morgan, covering interest rate derivatives and at Deutsche Bank covering mortgage-backed securities. Annapurna earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also earned her Ph.D. in Operations & Information Management from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Annapurna is a board member and treasurer of the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging.
